As my little girl, Marianne Faye, climbed on stage to receive her diploma, there was a sudden radiance of light that blinded me. Flashback. When my son Nikolai graduated Kindergarten 3 years ago, it melted my heart. Then again, that feeling came back. I wondered why it’s so nostalgic. The answer was in this same song they sang 3 years ago…
Thank you Jesus for loving me so
Thank you Jesus for helping me grow
Thank you Jesus that I can see
Thank you for all you’ve done to me
Thank you Jesus for parents so dear
Thank you Jesus for sisters so near
Thank you Jesus for brothers that love
Thank you God in heaven above
Thank you Jesus for classmates at play
Thank you teachers you help us all day
Thank you Jesus for natures that say
Let’s make a better world as we love each day
Thank you for rainbows up in the sky
Thank you for thoughts that soar way up high
Thank you for dreams of what I shall be
Thank you Jesus for loving me.
Thank you Jesus for loving me.
Those angelic voices melted my heart. I had to control my tears. This is how it feels to be a father. It’s really fun when you grow with your children. And I really wonder how other parents could raise their children without being physically or emotionally there? Just try being there. Answer repeated questions. Answer your child’s why with what am I going to tell them. And then question repeated answers. Am I making sense? And then, always hug them before you go to sleep. Just a tip, action speaks louder than words. It’s like a pat on the back from your boss makes you work hard even more. A kiss from your loved ones makes your day complete.
And as the sun sets, you can sit back, relax and smile. As you look at your wallet, you stop to think “Tuition na naman!”
Thank you Jesus for loving me so
